What is a mind machine?
When the brain engages in FFR it becomes entrained. Entrainment means that the brainwaves take on the same rhythm of light or sound pulses. When you take a walk by the ocean, the slow pulsing sounds of the surf slows down the brainwaves to that rhythm so the result relaxes you. With a mindmachine you can alter consciousness to quickly relax, enhance your ability to visualize, facilitate meditation, increase concentration and memory or can even put you to sleep. In the 1800's, Nikola Tesla and others harnessed a new form of energy called electricity to build devices such as Tesla coils which had mind altering effects. Electricity quickly became the new forefront of medical applications for healing and wellness. In the 1880's, dentists began using radio waves set at a specific frequency and amplitude (intensity) as an anesthesia. In the 1920's, intuitive healer, Edgar Cayce recommended a noble gas device called the Violet Ray to cure many ailments as the Violet Ray increased circulation on the skin bringing more oxygen to that area. In 1949, Andrija Puharich founded the Round Table of Electro biology, which became the spring board for modern Mind Machine, and spawned physicists like Ed Skilling and the late Bob Beck to re-engineer electrical healing technology which created a wave of new mind machines that began to flood the marketplace in the 1980's. Today, Mind Machine use is becoming a worldwide phenomenon. How to Use a Mind Machine You wear glasses with LEDs (light emitting diodes) on the inside that pulse at a specific rate while wearing headphones that produce pulsed sounds that match the pulsed rate of the light. For studying just use the headphones. Binaural beat sound frequencies are another interesting technology because sound pulses slowly entrain your brainwaves into a specific state of mind of your choosing. Two different pitches do this while listening through different tones in headphones in each ear. The difference in pitch generates a pulsed up and down shift in volume at a specific frequency, entraining you to enter a specific mind state for studying. The brainwave states are:
How Mind Machines Stimulate Brain Wave Entrainment Mind Machines deliver either pulses of light, sound, vibration, or combine them in ways that override the intrusion of external intrusions. Essentially you adjust the rate of the pulsed frequency to suit your needs (see the chart above). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mind_machine From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia A mind machine (in some countries called a psychowalkman) uses pulsing rhythmic sound and/or flashing light to alter the brainwave frequency of the user. Mind machines are said to induce deep states of relaxation, concentration and in some cases altered states of consciousness that have been compared to those obtained from meditation and shamanic exploration. The process applied by these machines is also known as brainwave synchronization or entrainment. Use of auditory and visual stimulation to improve cognitive abilities in learning-disabled children By Olmstead, Ruth, Ph.D., Walden University, 2003, 118 pages; AAT 3133101 Abstract (Summary) This study examined the effects of auditory and visual stimulation (AVS) on four specific cognitive abilities known to be weak in children diagnosed with leaming disabilities (LDs). Learning disabilities comprise cognitive deficits in executive functioning; such deficits include working memory, encoding, visual-motor coordination, response inhibition, planning, and processing. Aside from medication, educational remediation, and classroom interventions, no specific intervention has been found to rehabilitate such cognitive weaknesses, although previous studies using AVS demonstrated enhanced academic performance in children with learning disabilities. The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Third Edition (WISC-III) SCAD (Symbol Search, Coding, Arithmetic, and Digit Span) was administered before and after 12 biweekly, 35-minute AVS sessions. Two index scores from the SCAD profile were also assessed: Freedom from Distractibility (FFD) and Processing Speed (PS). The study design was quasi-experimental with repeated measures pre- and post-treatment. Findings demonstrated that AVS produced significant changes in specific cognitive abilities as measured by the WISC-III SCAD profile. Results suggest that this technology could greatly enhance the quality of life for learning-disabled individuals who, absent appropriate intervention, are at risk for social, psychological, and a multitude of personal disappointments and life-long failures.Change Your Brain, Change Your Mind, Change Your Life |
