- What can hypnosis be used for?

- What is a hypnosis session like?
An
hypnosis session is a calming, peaceful, experience. Relaxation
allows the body, mind and spirit to work together to reduce symptoms and
promote well-being.
- Will my insurance pay for
hypnosis?
Generally not. Hypnosis is a non-medical alternative
healing process.
- Can hypnosis cause me to commit a crime
or do something I don't want to?
No. The hypnotist can not
control or change your personality. The hypnotist is a guide that
helps you achieve your personal goals.
- How will I know if the hypnotist is
competent?
Ask for credentials. A professional hypnotist will
have formal mental health training and experience. They will have
graduated from a college or university that offers a degree program in
clinical hypnotherapy.
- How many sessions will it take before I
achieve my goal?
The number of sessions depends upon how quickly an
individual can process or put into action, the information presented to
them.
- What is a hypnosis session like?
A
hypnosis session has three parts. Part A is the induction.
That is a guided imagery to help you relax. Part B is the
process. The hypnotist provides suggestions for problem
resolution. Part C contains cues to implementing the suggestions
and a gentle reorientation.
- How long do hypnosis sessions last?
A
session can range from 45 minutes to an hour and a half. A good
hypnotherapist will allow as much time as is needed to complete a
session.
- How much does hypnosis cost?
A
certified clinical hypnotherapist is a professional. Rates
vary.
